WCAG 2.1!
The latest version of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) was published yesterday for public feedback. Over 70 experts from around the world from top universities and companies like Google and IBM were active in the development of this document.
Our team is reviewing now.
A final version is expected mid-year 2018. Here’s a timeline to implementation according to the World Wide Web Cosortium (W3C):
August: W3C is gathering comments and feedback
September: A new working draft will be published. This will include a focus on new success criteria and will be open to feedback.
November: Final version published. Implementation testing to commence
Mid-2018: Version 2.1 is expected to be published.
